takes approximately two months, interested candidates

<div><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The SENTINELLE project
(Stochastic neutron noise techniques for online
surveillance) aims to develop new methods for online
monitoring of the reactivity of low-power nuclear
systems using temporal fluctuations in the neutron
signal – stochastic neutron noise. These
fluctuations and the temporal correlations between
neutron </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">events
contain information on </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">fission chains and can
therefore be used to infer parameters related to the
multiplication of the nuclear system. The
long-term objective is to demonstrate the
feasibility of an integrated “detector + algorithm”
system capable of estimating reactivity
from neutron-noise measurements, for example during
reactor start-up or for monitoring corium during
decommissioning operations at the Fukushima Daiichi
nuclear power plant.</span></span></div>
