Dear Geant4 Users,

It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in the 1st Geant4 Australian School and User Workshop, to be held at the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia, hosted by the 
Centre For Medical Radiation Physics (CMRP), between the 11th and the 16th of April, 2011.

The Geant4 school will consist of a three day tutorial with seminars dedicated to all aspects of Geant4, with hands-on sessions, where the attendees will learn methodologies 
to develop Geant4 simulations for dosimetry.
The course is addressed to undergraduate/postgraduate students with previous knowledge of radiation physics and basic knowledge of scientific computing, and also to 
researchers and medical physicists, interested in the use of Geant4. The course will be of interest for all levels of knowledge of the Toolkit.
The deadline for early bird registration is 25 February 2011.

The Geant4 workshop is centred on Geant4-based simulation projects for research in Medical Physics, Space Science  and High Energy Physics.
Particular attention will be devoted to dosimetry, microdosimetry, nanodosimetry and to the use of Geant4 Monte Carlo to study and optimise radiation detectors. Geant4 Physics 
and its validation will be an important theme of the workshop.
The topics of the workshop will include:
- Radiotherapy, hadrontherapy, brachytherapy, IMRT, MRT
- Medical imaging
- Radiation protection
- Radiation detector optimisation
- Space science studies
- Radiation monitoring
- High Energy Physics experiments
The goal of this workshop is to discuss Geant4 capability for research in radiation physics, to discuss Geant4-based research,  to receive feedback from Geant4 experts, to 
benchmark Geant4 accuracy with respect to experimental and reference data, to create a network of Geant4 Users in Australia and New Zealand, to enhance collaboration between 
Australia and other Countries.

The submission of abstracts is from 15 January 2011 to 31 January 2011.
The deadline for early bird registration is 25 February 2011.
