Postdoctoral Fellowship in Radiation Dosimetry for Nuclear
Medicine Procedures at National Cancer Institute
A postdoctoral position is open for a specialist in computational and
retrospective dosimetry to work with Drs. Choonsik Lee and Vladimir
Drozdovitch within the Radiation Epidemiology Branch, Division of Cancer
Epidemiology and Genetics at the National Cancer Institute (NCI),
National Institutes of Health (NIH). The selected candidate will
participate in NCI intramural studies related to health risks of nuclear
medicine procedures (medical and occupational) including tool
development for radiation dose calculations and dose reconstruction for
patients and technologists from nuclear medicine procedures conducted in
past decades. Applicants who have the following minimum qualifications
will be considered for the position:
· A Ph.D. degree in medical physics, health physics, or
related discipline;
· An understanding of or experience with nuclear medicine
procedures;
· Experience with radiation transport and dosimetry
calculations using one of the Monte Carlo codes such as MCNP,
GEANT4, GATE and etc.;
· Proficiency in at least one programming language, numerical
modeling using MATLAB or similar tools; and
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, good
judgment, clear sense of purpose, and accountability.
