Abstract for Friday's talk:
Discrete Symmetries in Beta Decay: Time Reversal and Parity
Discrete symmetries in quantum mechanics are rather different from
classical continuous symmetries. This talk will sketch how beta decays can test
parity and time-reversal symmetry, including some experimental examples at
TRIUMF, some of them using TRIUMF's neutral atom trap for beta decay.
(About 1/3 of the talk is common with last term's on parity symmetry in
beta decay.)
thanks,
John Behr, TRIUMF Research Scientist
