GAPS Election

Hello GAPS members!

We will be having our election for the GAPS committee at the meeting on Friday, August 15th at 3 pm in the MOB Theory Room. We will be electing all of the positions on the committee (see below for a description of each). ALL GAPS MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE! In order to run for a position on the committee, you must have attended 2 meetings of the committee and have nominated yourself before the start of the meeting for the election. This means that if you attend the meeting this Friday, and the meeting for the election, you will be eligible! To nominate yourself for a position, contact me (Chris Chambers) directly and I will add you to the list of nominees.

The positions up for election are:
Chair: Responsible for running weekly meetings, ensuring the pillars of GAPS are met, and representing GAPS to management and external groups. (To qualify for the position, a member of the Committee must have been the primary organizer for at least one initiative and have been a member of the Committee for at least six months.)
Vice-Chair Advocay: Works with the Vice-Chair HR to collect and raise issues from the GAPS community to management.
Vice-Chair HR: Works with the Vice-Chair HR to collect and raise issues from the GAPS community to HR.
Vice-Chair Professional Development: Responsible for supporting and managing PD offered to the GAPS community (workshops, networking, etc.)
Vice-Chair Social: Responsible for supporting and managing social events offered to the GAPS community (social hour, hikes, pub nights, etc.)
Treasurer: Maintains the budget and expenditure records of the GAPS committee.
Secretary: Takes minutes at GAPS committee meetings and checks the GAPS email regularly.
