Dear PPD Members,

The Particle Physics Division is pleased to announce this year’s thesis prize competition! The nomination deadline is February 13, 2026.

The PPD Ph.D. thesis prize is awarded in Experimental or Phenomenological Particle Physics to a student receiving their Ph.D. degree from a Canadian university in the current calendar year. The award consists of $500 from the PPD and an invited talk at the upcoming CAP Congress sponsored by TRIUMF or PPD up to $1000.

More information, including the required documents, can be found here: <https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11504&qid=1583141> https://www.cap.ca/divisions/ppd/ppd-prizes-thesis-award/<https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11504&qid=1583141>. Note that, to be eligible for the award, both the supervisor and the nominee must be members of CAP and PPD.

Applications must be submitted via email by the thesis supervisor to the vice-chair of the PPD, currently Nikita Blinov (nblinov at yorku.ca<https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11506&qid=1583141>), with “PPD THESIS AWARD” in the subject, prior to February 13, 2026.

Any questions should be sent to Savino Longo (Savino.Longo at umanitoba.ca<https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11505&qid=1583141>) or Nikita Blinov (nblinov at yorku.ca<https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11506&qid=1583141>).

Thank you,

Savino Longo (PPD Chair)

Nikita Blinov (PPD Vice-chair)
