Hi!

I’m writing on behalf of the organizing committee of ComSciConCAN<http://www.comsciconcanada.org/>. This workshop is the only Canada-wide science communication training opportunity for graduate students, with a focus on facilitating open and inclusive dialog between scientific researchers and the broader public.

Can you please forward this exciting opportunity to all of your graduate students? Thank you very much, and feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Best,

Alex Innanen

Are you interested in strengthening your ability to communicate your science to non-specialist audiences?

Would you like to meet other graduate students across the country who are passionate about science communication?

Do you want to network with professionals to explore science communication in all its facets?

This is your opportunity!

ComSciCon is a series of workshops focused on enhancing communication skills and fostering an inclusive community that can effectively communicate scientific information to academic and non-academic audiences. Founded in 2013 by graduate students at Harvard University and MIT, ComSciCon has since supported over 2000 graduate students in developing the skills needed to communicate complex ideas in science, engineering, and other STEM+ fields to broader and more diverse audiences. ComSciConCAN offers this same training to empower the next generation of Canadian STEM+ leaders across the country.

This year, ComSciCon Canada will host its National Workshop (ComSciConCAN<http://www.comsciconcanada.org/>) from June 19th to 21st, 2026, at the University of Waterloo. The conference is offered at a low cost for selected attendees to promote accessibility and participation. We are also excited to announce that Dr. Donna Strickland, Nobel Prize winning physicist, will be the keynote speaker at this year's event!

The application deadline has been EXTENDED to February 16th at 11:59 PM EST and the application form is available here:
