Hi all,

Journal club tomorrow so here are some questions;

- Why should the background decrease faster for an on resonance M1 transition? (page 4, 2nd paragraph)

-If the decay of 8Be is so well know, why hasn't this anomaly been noticed sooner?

-Can you think of any nuclear physics explanations for the anomaly? (end of page 4/start of page 5)

-is there any chance this could be an artefact of the detectors?

-a paper released on the 25th of April (linked below) has stated it cannot be a dark photon, if this is true then which out of the suggestions given could it be? (page 5, paragraph 1)

General question -Do you think they've presented enough evidence for a new boson?

See you all tomorrow,

Jimmy
