Hi everyone,
the first Journal/Snack Club of 2017 will take place next Wednesday,
January 18, at 3:30 in the MOB Theory Room. We'll be discussing a paper
with the rather long title:
"Role of the Δ Resonance in the Population of a Four-Nucleon State in
the 56Fe→54Fe Reaction at Relativistic Energies"
You can find the paper attached.
Some terms that you should probably look up if you don't know them:
1. Δ Resonance
2. Ablation-Abrasion Model
3. Isomeric state
4. Fragment separator, magnetic rigidity, and achromatic mode
Questions for the discussion
1. What is the "Universal Parametrization"?
2. What are the experimental arguments supporting the 10+-state being
populated via the Δ Resonance?
3. What causes the gigantic error bars in Figure 4?
4. "Other, higher-lying resonances might also play a role." Which ones?
Hope to see you all on Wednesday!
Matthias
