TRIUMF CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF ISOTOPE RESEARCH WITH OPEN HOUSE
(Vancouver, BC) --- Canada’s national laboratory in particle and nuclear
physics is formally inviting its neighbours to join us at our 2013
Community Open House where we will also be celebrating the 100th
anniversary of the discovery of isotopes. The event will take place this
Saturday, September 28, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., coincident with the launch
of Science World’s month-long “Around the Dome in 30 Days” celebration.
Members of the public and local community are invited to experience the
best of Canada’s national laboratory in particle and nuclear physics.
There will be high-tech science demonstrations, explanations of
laboratory experiments, popcorn and games, and activities for all ages.
This event is a great opportunity to celebrate the world-class research
that is occurring right here at TRIUMF, with the generous support of
the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
