Dear Colleagues,

Please see email from John with preliminary agenda for the ISAC BAE interview attached.
We will have to decide how to make the best use of the 30min. I would imagine a round
table introduction with some follow up questions. But ideally we have a few questions
that we ask each candidate. Let me know if you have suggestions. I can send a proposal
later in the week.

As John mentions, you can also ask for an individual meeting with the candidates.
Makoto has done this already.

Best regards,

Oliver

    hi dept heads and deputies,

Please run this draft schedule by your departments.
We moved things away from Wed Jun 10 because of IPP/CINP AGM, and from
MT June 22/23 because of 5-15year CINP Town Hall.
Please let me know if there are similar howlers remaining.

E.g. I did not check Sci-Tech calendars-- Fabrice said they could
accomodate us, but if that's wrong please just let me know.

I suggest inviting whatever number of postdocs or grad students to your 30
minute meeting is appropriate. Note that GAPS is getting a 30 minute slot.
Personally, I would value most your telling the candidates what you do,
to help convince them that TRIUMF is an interesting place for them to
do their research... but of course further questions
after the Research Plan are fair game, or anything else.
Colloquia will be recorded if they agree... maybe Research Plans as well,
    similarly password protected.
(There will be a total of three BlueJeans links sent. The Research Plan
    will have a password.)

We'll try to get Calendar invitations sent once things settle.

An unusual feature is the research plan presentation. This will be open
to Research Scientists (and a few P&S, and a few accel div AMO people,
as our knowledge of these topics is distributed).
My hope is to give them a chance to convince us that their research is
something interesting to do at TRIUMF, and vice versa, and to let them be
a little more technical about motivation and feasibility.

If your people want individual meetings, ask them to contact me directly.
(Makoto has already done this. I thank Makoto and 2 scientist Calendars
for alerting me to the Town Hall conflicts.)
I guess I'll send this also to Beatrice Franke and Pietro Giampa because I
don't know with whom they caucus.

    thanks,
    John Behr
