Dear Colleagues,
Here are the updated slides for ACOT. As discussed during the department meeting on Thursday, I have included one slide from Wojtek on Data Science in the PP second talk.
https://triumfoffice365.sharepoint.com/sites/ParticlePhysicsDepartment/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2Fsites%2FParticlePhysicsDepartment%2FShared%20Documents%2FGeneral%2FACOT%20Nov%202020&FolderCTID=0x0120000BB89921E30F984D94C77B89E7E7B4BE
Then for the hiring plan, as expected Jens was not ok with the wording I had. So I had several iterations with him over the weekend. As you will see in the slides, he was eventually ok
with showing the number of retirements, but wanted to provide the context which seems fair to me. Bottom line: a large part of the reduction in particle physics is coming from
the non-renewal of the joint hires, which have partially gone into e.g. CMMS. But the number of TRIUMF based particle physics BAE has stayed relatively flat.
For the research accomplishments slides, they need to be finalized by tomorrow, so please if you have changes to make, either send them to me or update the sharepoint.
I also just tried in Zoom to give control to another person in the same Zoom call (thanks Scott for the suggestion), so we can use that on Friday.
I will send the Zoom link as soon as I get it.
Thanks everybody for their help! I think we are in good shape.
Best regards,
Oliver
