Hi everyone,
We wanted to send a friendly reminder about next week’s special Dark Matter Forum / Seminar about the recent PADME results on the X17 boson. We will have a remote seminar by Prof. Mauro Raggi (Sapienza Universita' di Roma) on Monday June 23rd @ 10 AM PT in the MOB Theory Room for those that would like to attend in person, and below is a Teams link for those that would like to attend online.
Title, abstract, and remote connection information are given below.
Cheers,
Pietro and Douglas

Title: Search for a 17 MeV resonance in e+e- annihilation with the PADME Experiment
Abstract: The PADME experiment at the Frascati National Laboratory of INFN has performed a search for the hypothetical X17 particle, by observing the product of the collisions of the positron beam from the DAFNE LINAC on a diamond fixed target.
The beam energy has been varied in the range 265–300 MeV, corresponding to values of vs between 16.4 and 17.5 MeV, completely covering the CoM region identified by the ATOMKI collaboration as significant for observing the postulated X17 particle. The result of the analysis shows an about 2-sigma excess corresponding to the mass indicated by the ATOMKI experiment. A new data-taking campaign with an improved detector is currently ongoing, aiming to push forward the sensitivity of the search. -- Remote Connection: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_YWM1ZDU4MWQtOWQzNi00YmQzLTk1NzItMzFiMGNiNzRhNDU1%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22c2053510-9cb3-4679-a2d3-8f442e03b587%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22d9fac05c-8c3e-4fd4-816f-986cea6e28f9%22%7d<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19:meeting_YWM1ZDU4MWQtOWQzNi00YmQzLTk1NzItMzFiMGNiNzRhNDU1@thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22:%22c2053510-9cb3-4679-a2d3-8f442e03b587%22,%22Oid%22:%22d9fac05c-8c3e-4fd4-816f-986cea6e28f9%22%7d>
