Science Talk Abstract;

The Off-Line Ion Sources (OLIS) facility located at the start of the ISAC accelerator-chain creates and delivers all stable isotope beams for experiments, accelerator tuning, texts, commissioning, developments, and all beam-related activities. Positive beams from nearly all elements can be produced by three different ion sources (surface, microwave, and ECR ionization). In this talk, I introduce OLIS and discuss its key importance for ARIEL, including some ion source background physics, and problematic stable beams for PSD experiments.
