GAPS Scholarships for Conferences/Workshops

Hi GAPS members,

Have you recently wanted to attend a conference but not had the funding to make it happen? Or maybe there's been a unique professional development workshop you've wanted to participate in that your supervisor won't fund? Well, you're in luck!

We're excited to announce a conference/workshop scholarship program funded by your GAPS! The purpose of this scholarship program is to help fund graduate student and post-doc attendance at conferences and/or workshops that they might not attend otherwise. GAPS will fund up to ~$500 of conference fees per application. The conference/workshop should have some bearing on your field or your personal/professional development, but doesn't have to be directly related to your research at TRIUMF.

The application process won't be explicitly formal. We simply ask for:

  *   General information about the conference/workshop, including cost, overview/description and any relevant website links
  *   A couple of paragraphs on why you're interested in attending whatever conference/workshop and how it will be beneficial for your research or career.

You can send this in an email to the GAPS Committee at gaps at triumf.ca. We will be accepting applications on a rolling basis from now onwards, up until March 1st, 2021. Applications after this date will not be able to be considered.
