Please join us at the Science Outreach Career Panel on June 7th at 1.30 p.m. at 311. The event will take one hour. It will be great to see you in person to speak about how our speakers got involved in outreach and how you can be part of Blusson QMI initiatives as well.

Our speakers are:

MengXing (Ketty) Na is a UBC PhD student in Quantum Materials Laboratory at the Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute. Her research involves using powerful lasers to study how electrons move and behave in materials. She is heavily involved in all outreach initiatives of Blusson QMI including professional development of teachers, secondary and elementary students as well as wider public community. Recently she has been a tremendous contributor to the Tupper Secondary Outreach initiative consisting of school lectures, demos and QMI visits.

Sayak Dasgupta (PhD) is a postdoctoral fellow in theoretical condensed matter physics involved in predicting and verifying magnetic properties of materials from analytical and computational analysis, interested in developing effective strategies to bring this analysis to the device level. He is one of the great contributors to outreach initiatives at the Tupper Secondary Outreach initiative and STEM Aces activities.
Amritabha Guha is an undergraduate student of Physics and a researcher at Blusson QMI within Quantum Pathways umbrella. As for outreach, he is the founding President of the UBC Quantum Club, coordinator of UBC Physics Circle as well as a supporter of Bangladeshi UBC students via podcasts and other initiatives.
