New GAPS "Buddy" Program

Hi GAPS members,

The GAPS committee is launching a pilot "buddy system" program to introduce new members to our wonderful community. This program aims to pair a new grad or postdoc with a "buddy" that is already involved with GAPS (such as yourself). Ideally, people from different research groups will be matched up to create broader connections throughout GAPS. This is a low-commitment role, mostly aimed to get the new member introduced to the GAPS community at large and feel welcome at TRIUMF.

The expectations for the buddy are:

  *   Invite and accompany your buddy to 3 GAPS events (cookie hour, movie night etc.) and introduce them to people to help them build connections
  *   Link them up with a site tour
  *   Introduce them to GAPS communications such as the mailing list, website and discord server (coming soon!)
  *   Be nice and friendly 🙂

And that's it, of course you may also end up with a new friend along the way!

If you are interested in being a buddy please respond to email and we will add you to the pool of buddies to be matched up.
