Volunteering for Science Week

Hi GAPS,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to thank all the volunteers who signed up and showed up for their work to make Science Week happen. To get your food truck voucher please see Allayne McGowan on the day of your shift.

That said, we also appreciate the extra assistance from those who did not sign up for volunteer shifts, but unfortunately, we do not have the budget to offer vouchers to anyone who lends a hand. To get the vouchers you must have either :

  1.  Signed up and showed up for your volunteer shift
  2.  Have been explicitly told by someone on the organizing committee that you are replacing someone for that shift and can get a voucher

Again, sorry to not be able to feed you all, but the budget for Science Week is already fixed and only accounts for the number of volunteer shifts offered. Perhaps this is something we can take into account for next year, since we know the food options are expensive for GAPS members. Please respect these guidelines and do not make the organizers (who are also volunteers) spend their time refusing your requests for vouchers that were not granted and feel like they are the bad person by refusing to give you food.
