Dear Grads & Postdocs,

See text below from the TRIUMF colloquium organizers asking for suggestions for colloquium speakers. You can send suggestions along to David Morrissey at dmorri at triumf.ca.

Best,
-Your GAPS

---------------------------------------------

Hi Everyone,

We're assembling a list of people to invite for
lab colloquiums for the next academic year,
September to May. We expect to have a mixture of
in-person and remote talks. In both cases, we'll
also provide remote access for people off-site.

These are held on Thursdays at 2pm (with the
occasional one outside this time slot), and
everyone affiliated with TRIUMF is invited to
attend. We also plan to reserve a meeting time
with in-person speakers for GAPS members directly
after the talk, typically 3:15-4:00pm in the
cafeteria.

As part of this, I'd like to ask you for speaker
suggestions. The goal for our colloquiums is to
bring in excellent speakers doing top notch
science to describe their work in a way that is
broadly accessible to everyone in the Physical
Sciences Division and beyond (so generally
understandable by a 2nd or 3rd year physics
undergrad). This last part is hugely important, so
please keep it in mind when you recommend people.

All the best,

David

P.S. If you're not already, I'd highly recommend
signing up for the TRIUMF seminar mailing list here:
