Requesting Testimonials for TRIUMF Lobby Day at Parliament

Hi GAPS,

A team of TRIUMF employees (including some GAPS members) will be going to Ottawa to meet with MPs and other government officials to support TRIUMF's funding request for the next 5-year plan. At the reception we are hosting, there will be several interactive displays and hands-on activities to showcase the facilities and technology at TRIUMF. We also want to show the human side, especially the training and education that we do here. There will be a slideshow that includes testimonials from TRIUMF personnel, and we want GAPS to be represented. If you are interested in writing a short (1-2 sentence) statement and having a nice photo taken to accompany the quote, please respond to this email with your testimonial! They will likely be edited by Communications for clarity or impact, but you will have final say on what is used.

Here are some questions that could help you think of something to write but write whatever you want!

  1.  What has your experience at TRIUMF been like?
  2.  What brought you to TRIUMF?
  3.  How has your experience at TRIUMF impacted your career choices? (I.e., has it re-affirmed your interest in your career of choice? Has it opened you up to new ideas, or avenues for your career?)
  4.  After TRIUMF, where are you headed? How do you foresee using what you’ve learned at TRIUMF in the future?
  5.  Tell us about the community of peers, colleagues, or mentors you’ve interacted with at TRIUMF.

 We are on a short timeline given the work required to put the slideshow together, so if you are interested, please respond by this Sunday (Oct. 15th). The photos will probably be taken sometime Monday, so dress how you would like to be photographed.
