Hi GAPSers,
Reminder that today at 11:00am we have a transitioning to industry talk in the MOB Auditorium!
About our speaker:
Daniel Lenski grew up in a family full of professors and academics, and was fascinated by science, languages, and computers from a young age. He studied physics and linguistics at Cornell University, then went on to get his PhD in semiconductor physics at the University of Maryland. He came to realize that he wasn’t very good at science, but enjoyed and thrived as an intern at a small company making speech-synthesis software, and at a large one simulating the magnetic properties of hard drive recording heads. Since finishing his PhD, he has worked at both very large and very small technology companies in roles including software development, semiconductor manufacturing, and consulting. He has lived in Vancouver for 2 years, and especially enjoys BC for its trail running, cross-country skiing, and cool grey skies.
See you there!
