Hi GAPS!

The Intro to Capoeira Night has been confirmed! It will take place on Wednesday, November 20 from 7:30 – 9:00 pm at the Creekside Community Centre in Multi-Purpose Room 3 (MP3). If you did not yet fill out the sign up form<https://forms.office.com/r/b3JX03DUzk> but would like to attend, please do so by Monday as there are still spots available. Please arrive 10 minutes early at the community centre. Please refer to the original email below for all the details, and let us know if you have any questions. As an extra bonus, after the class, we will walk over to Earnest ice cream for a GAPS-covered treat for anyone who is interested (and who attended the class of course).

We have an exciting new FREE event for mid-November - A special martial arts class: Intro to Capoeira<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capoeira>!
Aleksey Sher, a TRIUMF employee in the Science Technology Division (and formerly a TRIUMF grad student and postdoc), has been teaching capoeira for more than 10 years. He teaches classes at the Creekside Community Centre<https://maps.app.goo.gl/ELpQ5GPdvPyk1BRJ9> and is offering a free intro class for us there!

The event will be held on either Monday November 18 or Wednesday November 20, from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. Please use the signup form to register and select your preferred day: https://forms.office.com/r/b3JX03DUzk. Please register by Friday, November 8 if you are interested in attending.

Take part in a FREE Capoeira INTRO class at the Creekside Community Center. Everyone is welcome, and all you need is comfortable workout clothing, but read more below in the "FAQ" section on our website. Learn more about the ABADA-Capoeira school and it's East Vancouver chapter (for a decade it is led by one of TRIUMF's employees, so your participation will also support the school):

Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to have time to change if you need to (second floor restrooms serve as change-rooms). The class will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room 3 (MP3), located on the second floor. In case you are late, do not worry and just proceed to MP3 on the second floor. Bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated. There are water fountains the community centre.
