Many of us have been longing for the return of TRIUMF tours so we can show our friends, family, and the public the amazing place we work! Well, tours will be returning this summer, and you could be the one to manage them! GAPS has been offered the responsibility of
organising and managing the TRIUMF tours, so we're looking for 2 people to schedule tours, train and book volunteer tour guides, and manage the tours inbox (more details will be provided). (We are not yet looking for tour guides, but if you want
to be a tour guide, hold your horses, we'll be looking for tour guides soon!) The managerial role will be covered by TRIUMF's emerging Learn2Lead policy, and hence will be a paid position somewhere around the $35-40 per hour mark (not settled yet, don't quote
us on that).

To make it clear, this role will be a big responsibility. There are wide reaching consequences that will affect many people if the job is not done consistently and effectively. This is not, for example, like a TA-ship where if research gets busy you can just
disappear for a bit; the role requires professionalism as you would be responsible for the reputation of GAPS and TRIUMF at large. Of course, we understand things happen and people need to leave, which is why we are looking for 2 people, but that needs to
be planned and communicated.

With that in mind, we are asking interested GAPS members to apply to the role by answering the following questions:

Why do you want to manage the TRIUMF tours?

What previous organisational experience do you have? How would that prepare you for this role?

How long can you commit to organising? (8 months is ideal, but down to 4 months is workable)

This is a super exciting opportunity and I hope you're as stoked about the return of tours as we are!

Cheers,
