We are excited to announce the launch of the Early Career Researchers (ECR) Mentorship Program at TRIUMF! The goal of this 8-month program is to support and enhance personal and professional development
for TRIUMF’s undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. In addition, this program aims to give participants a safe space for constructive, unbiased discussions around career growth, institutional and STEM ecosystem knowledge sharing, and
more. This is done by creating one-to-one matches of mentee applicants and mentor applicants, prioritizing matches outside of one’s usual work at TRIUMF. The application deadline for both mentors and mentees is October 3.

The Early Career Researchers Mentorship Program is a two-stream initiative designed by and for students and postdoctoral fellows.

• The Peer Mentorship stream aims to establish connections that support and foster positive day-to-day work and life experiences at TRIUMF by connecting new ECR members of the community with senior graduate
students and postdoctoral fellows. Peer mentors help their mentee navigate a new research environment and help provide an avenue for community building.

• The Academic Mentorship stream aims to build relationships between ECRs and more senior members of our organization to promote learning new skills and increasing networking opportunities.

Students and postdoctoral fellows can choose to participate as a mentee in either or both program streams. In both streams of the program, mentor/mentee pairs will be expected to host three to six open-format discussions,
centered around the mentee’s goals for the program. To facilitate these meetings, a meal allowance will be provided for each meeting.
