Did you find a RedHat bugzilla entry indicating that it will fixed be in
a future installer? Or perhaps it's already fixed in Fedora 13.

I spoke to Rob Watt and he is about to update the recommended hardware
and will add a note about these disks.

Actually, you can do it all with the SL installer. At the partitioning
stage, use <ctl><alt><f2> to get to a shell prompt. Then, manually
partition using the fdisk command recommended by Konstantin. Return to
the graphical installer with <ctl><alt><f6>
