[Triumf-linux-managers] amanda backup server failure Wed 19-jan-2011

Hi, there. The AMANDA backup server is presently down with some kind of hardware
problem. The best I can tell, all disks are intact and existing backup data
should be okey, but the machine does not want to run linux so all data
is currently unaccessible. (I can boot and run memtest86, but booting a linux kernel
causes a system reset, back to BIOS POST, in an infinite loop).

If you rely on AMANDA for backups for your data, please avoid any risky
data manipulations (i.e. be extra careful with "rm -rf / oops!") at least
until access to existing AMANDA backups is restored.

I believe we have any required spare parts to repair the amanda machine quickly.

Sorry for this unexpected unplanned outage.
