This is a fork of the existing TRIUMF-Linux-Managers list to which you are subscribed.

If you are not interested in this Linux discussion list, feel free to unsubscribe (instructions below).

Some years ago I created triumf-linux-managers specifically to target security announcements at the managers of Linux machines.
Later, when the list was moved to Mailman, it was occasionally used for discussion but some members stated that they did not wish to receive that kind of mail.
Recently, the subject arose again with discussion of the "shellshock" exploits.

I believe that a forum for general discussion is valuable, and this list is the result.
Feel free to unsubscribe, or to invite other TRIUMF Linux users (not just managers). This is a closed public list; new members must be approved, but archives are public as for the original list.

triumf-linux-managers remains in place, for announcements, and you should not unsubscribe from that if you continue to manage Linux computers at TRIUMF. Please direct any discussion to this new list, and questions to the poster personally.

(You should be aware that there is also a Vancouver Linux Users Group - VANLUG - at vanlug at robomod.net, with regular physical meetings)
