Dear TRIUMF Run Club,
We (myself and the ECS-EDI) are once again organizing a TRIUMF team for the Vancouver Pride Run! Please see the message below, that is also being sent as a TRIUMF Community Announcement. Hope to see you joining the team!
Thanks,

The Vancouver Pride Run & Walk<https://raceroster.com/events/2025/101202/vancouver-pride-run-and-walk-2025> is back for another year, and for the second year in a row, we are organizing a TRIUMF team! The Pride Run is a 10 km or 5 km run or walk around the Stanley Park seawall, taking place the morning of Sunday, July 13 (8 am). It is a fun, officially timed race for those interested in something similar to the Sun Run, but in a much less crowded, more relaxed environment. It is also very welcoming to anyone wanting to join for the community aspect more than the race, as it is as much a celebration and fun morning as it is a race.
In order to encourage TRIUMF Staff and Students to sign up and join the team, we are very happy to be supported by both the TRIUMF Recreation Club and the TRIUMF Student and Education team. The TRIUMF Recreation club is providing $15 off the race registration fee to the first 10 TRIUMF Staff members who register. The Student and Education fund is providing $15 off to all TRIUMF students and postdocs, including co-op students. The reduced registration cost including fees is $32.18.
In order to receive this reduced cost, please email or send a Teams message to the race team organizer, Ben Davis-Purcell (bdavispurcell at triumf.ca<mailto:bdavispurcell at triumf.ca>) as soon as you can confirm your participation. He will then confirm that you plan on registering and will send you the discount code to use when you register and the very simple registration instructions. Please follow up with Ben if you have any questions related to this or the run in general.
The Pride Run is a volunteer-run charity event, raising money for four great Pride-related organizations: ARC Foundation<https://www.arcfoundation.ca/>, Out In Schools<https://outonscreen.com/out-in-schools/>, Rainbow Refugee<https://www.rainbowrefugee.com/>, and Ross Aoki House<https://atira.bc.ca/>. TRIUMF team members are encouraged to donate to one of these charities, if able to do so, and to fundraise as well! Last year, the TRIUMF team had 16 members and raised over $600 for charity. Let’s try to beat both of those numbers this year! If you are unable to join for the run but would still like to support the team and these organizations, you can donate simply by following this link: https://raceroster.com/events/2025/101202/vancouver-pride-run-and-walk-2025/teams, searching for the “TRIUMF” team and clicking “Donate” in the TRIUMF team row.
More details about team planning will be shared closer to the event. We hope to see you in Stanley Park in July!
