Cheers, Ben From: Benjamin Davis-Purcell Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 16:11 To: TRIUMF Community Announcements Subject: TRIUMF Community Announcements: Vancouver Pride Run - TRIUMF Team! Sunday July 26 Dear TRIUMF Community, The Vancouver Pride Run & Walk is back for another year, and for the third year in a row, TRIUMF will have a team! The Pride Run is a 10 km or 5 km run or walk around the Stanley Park seawall, taking place the morning of Sunday, July 26 (8 am). It is a fun, officially timed race for those interested in something similar to the Sun Run, but in a much less crowded, more relaxed environment. It is also very welcoming to anyone wanting to join for the community aspect more than the race, as it is as much a celebration and fun morning as it is a race. Most importantly, all money beyond operating costs goes to charity (more info below). Hopefully this year will have the largest TRIUMF team yet! Thanks to incredible support from the TRIUMF Recreation Club, GAPS, and the TRIUMF Education program, a discount will be offered to the first TRIUMF registrants: The TRIUMF Recreation club is providing $15 off the race registration fee to the first 20 TRIUMF Staff members who register, GAPS is providing $25 off to the first 20 graduate students and postdocs who register, and the TRIUMF Education program is providing $25 off to the first 20 undergraduate students who register. The total registration cost this year is about $60 before the discount. In order to receive this reduced cost, please email or send a Teams message to the race team organizer, Ben Davis-Purcell (bdavispurcell at triumf.ca), as soon as you can confirm your participation. You will then receive the discount code and registration instructions from him. Please follow up with Ben if you have any questions related to this or the run in general. The Pride Run is a volunteer-run charity event, raising money for four great Pride-related organizations: ARC Foundation, Out In Schools, Rainbow Refugee, and Ross Aoki House. TRIUMF team members are encouraged to donate to one of these charities, if able to do so, and to fundraise as well! Last year, the TRIUMF team had 34 members and raised almost $1000 for charity. Let?s try to beat both of those numbers this year! If you are unable to join for the run but would still like to support the team and these organizations, you can donate simply by following this link: https://raceroster.com/events/2026/112595/vancouver-pride-run-and-walk-2026/pledge/team/998513. More details about team planning will be shared closer to the event. We hope to see you in Stanley Park in July! Ben ????????? ?
