Title: Indirect Techniques in Experimental Nuclear Astrophysics

Abstract: Experiments in nuclear astrophysics traditionally involve long and painstaking measurements of small reaction cross sections using low energy ion beams. The time-reversal invariance of the strong and electromagnetic interactions implies that indirect measurements with intermediate energy beams can often provide comparable information in a small fraction of the time. I will descibe what indirect techniques using intermediate energy stable and radioactive ion beams can tell us about solar neutrinos and nova nucleosynthesis.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
