Title: Physics with Intense Ultracold Neutrons

Abstract: Ultracold neutrons are very low energy neutrons, which can be confined in a material bottle and a magnetic potential. The confined neutrons are useful for various kinds of experiments, since neutons are a fundamental constituent of the universe. Today there is a new rush to develop alternative types of UCN sources, based on widely varying methods. The reason for this is that the number of confined UCN is the most important parameter for progress in these experiments. Here, we discuss a spallation UCN source with superfluid helium, which is a new generation UCN source.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.

Please note 3:00 PM start.
