Title: First results from the salt phase of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
Abstract: This talk will describe recent results from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (arXiv:nucl-ex/0309004). Designed to resolve the decades old solar neutrino problem, the Sudbury Neutrino Obsevatory (SNO) has precisely determined the total active 8B solar neutrino flux without assumptions about the energy dependence of the electron neutrino survival probability. These recent measurements were made with dissolved NaCl in the heavy water to enhance the sensitivity and signature for neutral current interactions. In addition to the SNO results, a global analysis of these and other solar and reactor neutrino results will be presented and the implications for the neutrino oscillation parameters will be discussed.
Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
