Title: Grid Computing for the LHC: A Practical Example.
Abstract: The physics searches at the new Large Hadron Collider at CERN will necessitate an extreme operating environment in terms of the data rate and processing requirements. The new computing philosophy, based on Grid computing techniques, aims to solve these problems. Working at the forefront of physics analysis on a computing Grid we propose methods and techniques for effective future physics computing. Practical examples include job submission and data access for physics jobs in a Grid environment.
TRIUMF Research Scientist candidate.
Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
