Title: Physics at the Energy Frontier: Results from the D0 Experiment
Abstract: The Fermilab Tevatron is the world's highest energy particle collider providing proton anti-proton collisions at 1.96 TeV centre-of-mass energy. Since the spring of 2001 the D0 experiment has collected data at this energy in a period known as Run II. The Run II dataset now represents more than double the integrated luminosity collected in previous data-taking (Run I) providing the opportunity to publish interesting new results from the energy frontier. The Tevatron provides a unique environment for studying properties of the top quark, for direct searches for new physics and for many precision measurements which test the Standard Model. I will present an update on the D0 physics programme after 200 inverse pb with emphasis on the measurement of the top quark properties.
Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
