Title:     Design of a Double Time-of-Flight Spectrometer for Fission Fragment Spectroscopy at FZR

Abstract: Beta and gamma-ray spectroscopic investigations of neutron-rich nuclei close to the r-process path have been planned at Forschungzentrum Rossendorf (FZR).  These nuclei will be produced via photo-fission by using 20 MeV bremsstrahlung beam from a superconducting electron accelerator (ELBE)  and their mass and charge numbers will be determined by time-of-flight (TOF) measurements. A novel  time-of-flight spectrometer has been designed for this purpose.  The current status of the photo-fission project and the details of the design of the spectrometer will be presented in the seminar.
