Title:     Some Thoughts on the Technology transfer Process and the Industry/Laboratory Relationship

Abstract: Laboratories and academic institutions exist, in part, to develop new technology.  Companies, especially in the technology sector, exist to deliver technology to a consumer.  A symbiotic relationship between these two sectors can be inferred.  However, interactions between the two sectors are markedly brief and infrequent.  

This talk will investigate opportunities for improvement of the technology transfer process.  A selection of case studies from recent history at CTI Molecular Imaging will be presented.  The presentation will conclude with a number of new ways for industry and research institutions to work together.
