Title: Ab initio approach to reaction observables

Abstract: New approaches will allow in the near future a more consistent treatment of both structure and reactions within an ab initio framework. In this context, I will discuss the application of the Lorentz integral transform to the description of electromagnetic processes. This technique allows one to rigorously take into account the final-state interaction, without requiring explicit knowledge of the final-state wave function. I will present the recent results of a benchmark calculation for the photodisintegration of 4He within no-core shell model and effective interaction hyperspherical harmonics schemes. Also, the cross sections of the 4He(gamma,p)3H and 4He(gamma,n)3He exclusive processes as well as the longitudinal response function of the 4He(e,e'p)3H exclusive reaction will be presented.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
