Title:     Joint Institute for Nuclear Research: Present and Future Basic Facilities

Abstract: The status and brief history of International intergovernmental 
organization Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in the year of 
50th anniversary will presented. JINR is a large multidisciplinary 
scientific center incorporating:

   * basic research in frontier particle, nuclear and condensed matter
     physics,
   * development and application of high technologies,
   * university education in the relevant fields of knowledge.

Presently JINR has 5 basic facilities:
Nuclotron (superconducting synchrotron), Cyclotron U400, Cyclotron 
U400M, Phasotron (synchrocyclotron) and Neutron pulsed source IBR-2.
Three facilities are under construction:
IREN (high intensity pulsed source of resonance neutrons), DRIBs (Dubna 
Radioactive Ion Beams) and LINAC-800 (800 MeV electron linac).
The participation of JINR in the future worldwide project of 
International Linear Collider (ILC) is in the consideration now. JINR 
proposes to host the ILC and to construct it in the region of Dubna.
