Title: Probing new CP-odd thresholds with electric dipole moments
Abstract: Electric dipole moments (EDMs) of nucleons, atoms and molecules, represent one of our most powerful probes of new physics, and new sources of CP-violation in particular. I will review the status of the theoretical link between observable EDMs and new high-scale CP-odd sources, within the model-independent framework of effective field theory, and also the ensuing sensitivity to models of new CP-violating physics. As examples, new dimension-five operators in the MSSM, and a new Higgs-sector threshold allowing for electroweak baryogenesis, will be discussed.
Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
