Title:     Lasers for Basic and Applied Research

Abstract: Many of our research projects require specialized lasers not commercially available. Therefore, parts of our effort are directed
towards the development of lasers. This talk focuses on three laser projects. In each case we briefly motivate the use of the laser as well as their current specs. Specifically, we review our fiber amplifier work in the context of our remote sensing experiment, our ECDL work for gas sensing and our pulsed Ti:Sapphire lasers for spectroscopy.
