Title: Effective Field Theories for Few- and Many-Body Systems
Abstract: I will discuss the calculation of nuclear properties using effective field theories (EFTs). Specifically, I will consider an EFT that is tailored to weakly-bound systems such as light nuclei and Halo nuclei. I will furthermore discuss recent progress in the development of ab initio density functional theory for nuclear physics. This framework is a promising approach to a model-independent calculation of properties of heavy nuclei from microscopic internucleon interactions.
Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
