Title: Calculations and applications of spectral functions for mid-mass nuclei
Abstract: Application of many-body Green's function theory to nuclear structure have recently reached masses up to A=56. Such microscopical (ab-initio oriented) calculations provide an overall picture of the nuclear dynamics, encompassing structure (nucleon transfer) and scattering process.I will discuss recent results obtained from this method, including insights on the problem of quenching of spectroscopic factors, nucleon-nucleus scattering (and capture) and the link with the next generation of global dispersive optical models (DOM).
Most importantly, the present formalism is now being extended to open-shells throfuh the Gorkov-Green's function formalism---giving access to most medium mass isotopes. The second part of the talk will introduce preliminary of such calculations.
