Title: (Bestest) Little Higgs in Light of LHC Data
Abstract: The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) may be rapidly closing in on the Higgs boson, if recent trends suggesting a mass of 125 GeV prove to be more than statistical fluctuations. The question that will follow such a discovery will necessarily be: Is this the Standard Model (SM) Higgs or is there some more fundamental theory mimicking the SM Higgs? One class of new models involving a more fundamental theory, dubbed Little Higgs models, has been under fire recently due to challenges with hidden fine tuning, dangerous singlets and a hierarchy of gauge/fermion partner masses that contradicts current experimental limits. This seminar discusses these challenges in light of a more recent Little Higgs model designed to overcome them, ironically titled the Bestest Little Higgs (BLH), and explores LHC signatures of the BLH model.
