Title: Final Tevatron combined Higgs limits

Abstract: In the standard model of particle physics, electroweak symmetry breaking generates a fundamental scalar boson known as the Higgs boson. However, the standard model does not predict its mass and only after decades of searching with increasingly more powerful tools is experimental access to the Higgs boson possible with the large datasets collected by the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider. Results of the Tevatron Run II searches for the standard model Higgs boson, using up to 10 inverse femtobarns of data are presented. Measurements of the cross section times branching ratio for Higgs bosons decaying to bottom-antibottom quark pairs, tau pairs, W pairs, and photon pairs are reported. The significance of observed excesses over the standard model background predictions is evaluated, the largest coming from the bottom-antibottom decay channel with local (global) significance of 3.2 (2.9) standard deviations.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
