Title:     Peptide-Based Molecular Imaging Probes

Abstract: The advantages to using peptides and peptidomimetics for receptor targeting in the design of molecular imaging probes will be reviewed. We have developed analogues of the peptide ghrelin for PET imaging of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) and have validated the ability of ghrelin to distinguish between benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. Imaging agents based on the structure of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and radiolabelled with Ga-68 and In-111, will also be discussed.
