Title:     Weak processes and nuclear astrophysics

Abstract: Several astrophysical phenomena such as the synthesis of heavy elements, supernovae, and gamma ray bursts, are closely connected to the behaviour of matter under high density and temperature conditions. Our current understanding of these phenomena relies on simulations, micro-physics input, observations and the connections among them. Considerable efforts have been carried out to improve each one of these components. I shall discuss the influence that changes in the physics input, in particular weak processes, have on the above mentioned phenomena. I'll show connections between possible observables and neutrino emission and beta decay rates, in accretion disk outflows and neutrino driven winds.
