Title: Decay spectroscopy in the 132Sn region with EURICA

Abstract: The region around 132Sn is of highest interest for both nuclear structure physics as well as nuclear astrophysics. 132Sn is the heaviest douby-magic nucleus (8 neutrons more than the last stable isotope 124Sn) which is experimentally accessible and the nuclei in its vicinity therefore offer a rich playground to study nuclear structure properties at large isospin. At the same time the 132Sn region is crucial for stellar nucleosynthesis due to the close relation between the N=82 shell closure and the A~130 peak of the solar r-process abundance distribution.
In this talk we will discuss new experimental results obtained recently in experiments using decay spectroscopy performed at RIKEN (Tokyo, Japan) within the EURICA project. New isomeric states were identified in a number of nuclei close to 132Sn, among them 138Sn and 128Pd, making these two the most neutron-rich nuclei along the Z=50 and N=82 lines for which experimental information about excited states is available. The detection of the gamma radiation emitted after the beta-decay of neutron-rich Cd isotopes allowed for the construction of excitation schemes for the In daughter nuclei and in particular for the identification of previously unknown proton single-particle states in 131In.
Furthermore, besides providing very rich spectroscopic information, the new data set also enabled a consistent measurement of a large number of half-lives of nuclei in the region, among which 40 could be determined for the first time. The importance of these new half-life values for r-process simulations will be discussed.
