Title: Fundamental symmetries of nuclear physics and the standard model: An experimental perspective
Abstract: Despite its many successes at providing a consistent model to describe the particles and forces observed in nature, there are still many questions left unanswered by the Standard Model of fundamental interactions. By scrutinizing the fundamental symmetries observed in nuclear physics we can gain insight into the problems and hopefully answer some of the open questions. Here I will focus primarily on the baryon asymmetry of the universe and how a few particular experiments may help to solve the mystery of why there is a predominance of matter over anti-matter.
