Title: Basic Concepts, Extensions and Applications of the In-Medium Similarity Renormalization Group
Abstract: The In-Medium Similarity Renormalization Group (IM-SRG) is a very flexible ab initio many-body method for the calculation of nuclear structure observables through an efficient SRG flow-equation approach. We discuss the basic concepts and several extensions of the IM-SRG.
Furthermore, we have defined a novel many-body approach through merging the IM-SRG with the no-core shell model. Employing this novel method, we present the study of spectra of closed- and open shell nuclei. Furthermore, we present results of the random-phase approximation with IM-SRG-evolved Hamiltonians. Moreover, we explore the impact of intrinsic truncations of the IM-SRG ,i.e., present ways for assessing intermediate three-body effects.
