Title: Searches for New Physics at the Energy and Cosmic Frontiers

Abstract: Over several decades, the Standard Model of particle physics has demonstrated tremendous and continued success in providing testable predictions that have been confirmed by experiment. However, it has reached a stage where it is ripe for expansion or revision, as it cannot properly explain all of the major experimental data in the field, such as an explanation for the existence of dark matter in the Universe.
One way to search for dark matter or new physics is at the energy frontier at the LHC, probing energies comparable to those present very shortly after the Big Bang. Dark matter could also be detected indirectly through the observation of neutrinos produced in dark matter self-annihilations or decays.
In this talk, I will review recent experimental results for both complementary approaches. I will focus on searches for new physics using data from the ATLAS experiment and neutrino telescopes, like IceCube, and put them in context with respect to other direct and indirect dark matter searches. I will also include details about the detector performance that are crucial for such searches. I will conclude with a discussion on recent results on dark matter and new physics using global fits.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
